The Grave of Jim Morrison in Paris
I miss the ability to travel.
While I have had day trips and local trips, I miss the foreign countries. For many years, I have been fortunate to travel to Europe and other nations. Being in countries that are thousands of years old and experiencing other cultures have enriched my life. Getting away from the constant news reports of major problems in our country and the pressure to choose a side has been a great relief. Sampling other foods, learning how other people get by, and experiencing famous art and national monuments have created a different perspective for me about life in general and about other people.
I miss traveling. No words can truly express the personal feelings I have experienced while standing in St. Peters in Vatican City, praying at the Western Wall, touring Notre Dame, viewing Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower, ziplining in Costa Rica, and looking at artwork in the Louvre in Paris and the Prado in Madrid.
I love America and I am thankful for the riches of America that have allowed me to travel. Being in these foreign countries have also allowed me to appreciate my life and my relationships at home. Travel has expanded my life and it also has led me to appreciate what I do have.
I believe that we will soon be able to travel safely again.
I hope that you can experience for yourself some of what has enriched my life.
