10-22-2025 10 Inspirational Quotes to Uplift You This Coming Holiday Season!

As the holiday season approaches, I like to pause and reflect on what inspires us to grow, to persevere, and to live more meaningfully. Rather than sharing my usual thoughts this month, I decided to revisit one of my favorite past blogs…ten quotes that have inspired countless people (myself included).

My hope is that they will motivate you to reflect, recharge, and perhaps rediscover a bit of gratitude and hope this holiday season.

1. “Fall seven times…stand up eight.” – Japanese Proverb

Resilience isn’t about never falling—it’s about always getting back up. Think of a child learning to ride a bike. They wobble, crash, cry, and then get back on. Adults aren’t much different. Whether it’s recovering from a career setback or a health challenge, what defines us is our ability to rise one more time than we fall.

2. “Jump and a net will appear.” – Zen Proverb
Sometimes we wait for perfect conditions before we take a risk—starting a new job, relationship, or creative project. But life rarely gives us guarantees. A friend of mine left a stable job to start her own business. She didn’t know if it would work but once she leapt, she discovered the support, creativity, and courage she didn’t realize she had.

3. “Be the best version of yourself.” – Sara Sampaio
It’s easy to compare ourselves to others, especially in today’s social media world. But your goal isn’t to outdo anyone else. It’s to keep growing into your own best self. Maybe that means practicing patience, being more mindful, or simply doing your best at work or home each day.

4. “I am not what happened to me…I am what I choose to become.” – Carl Jung
We’ve all faced difficult experiences such as loss, failure, disappointment. Yet we are not defined by our past, but by how we respond to it. I once worked with a client who had faced years of adversity. Through therapy and self-reflection, she realized that healing came from choosing who she wanted to be, not reliving what had happened.

5. “She turned her can’ts into cans and her dreams into plans.” – Kobi Yamada
Dreams only stay dreams until we act on them. A teacher I know once told her students, “If you can’t do it yet, add the word yet to the end.” That small shift from can’t to can eventually can transform fear into action.

6. “A woman is like a tea bag: you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
Adversity reveals strength we didn’t know we had. Many people discover their inner resilience only when life tests them such as a family crisis, an illness, a major life change. The “hot water” moments, as uncomfortable as they are, often show us who we truly are.

7. “What a wonderful thought it is that some of the best days of our lives haven’t happened yet.” – Anne Frank
This quote is a reminder to stay hopeful. Even when things feel uncertain, there’s always something ahead worth anticipating like a new friendship, a joyful moment, or a goal achieved. The future still holds countless good days waiting to be lived.

8. “You’re a diamond, dear. They can’t break you.” – Unknown
Pressure can refine us, not destroy us. Diamonds form under immense stress and heat. Likewise, challenges can strengthen our character and clarify what truly matters. Remember: pressure doesn’t define your worth … it reveals it.

9. “She promised herself better and never looked back.” – Unknown
Change begins with a promise to yourself. When you commit to your own growth like leaving a toxic situation, choosing health, or setting stronger boundaries, you honor your self-worth. The first step is often the hardest, but it’s also the most empowering.

10. “Be the CEO your parents always wanted you to marry.” – Unknown
This one always makes people smile. It’s a playful reminder that we have the power to take charge of our own lives. We can lead with confidence, independence, and purpose. Whether it’s running a household, a business, or your own self-care, you can be your own CEO.

Final Thoughts

As you gather with family and friends this holiday season, turn off the news. Take a moment to reflect on these messages. Each quote offers a small spark of wisdom to carry with you into the new year. It’s a reminder that growth, hope, and resilience are always within reach.
